Welcome to Kolel's online courses.

We have made a few changes to the way our online courses work. The 'lecture' material (ie. the prepared classroom content) has been moved to be freely available to anyone on the Internet who is interested in learning more about Judaism and studying our sacred texts. Simply visit http://www.kolel.org/pages/courses.html and you will see the links to our courses.

If you bookmark this page, you can use it to jump directly to the Story of the Torah course outline.

HOW TO SIGN IN
The private, closed, and moderated forum, which you will be able to participate in, however requires registration and a password. If you haven't done so already, to sign in, you must visit our lounge and click on the 'register' hot link. You choose a user name (your first name and initial is nice) and a password. Please make a note of your (easily remembered) password. We do not have access to it, so please don't lose it. You must register before you try to access the class forum.
AFTER you have registered in our forum, you can access the Story of the Torah forum where we will discuss each module. It, too, requires a password.
The password for this forum is 'laasok'.

It might be nice for people to introduce themselves with why they're taking this course, their Jewish/religious background, and a little biographical sketch: what they do, where they live. I know one of the great things about online learning is the anonymity it provides, but it is difficult to study earnestly with such disembodied individuals. I have set up a topic called introductions for that purpose. Just a reminder: we are an inclusive, pluralistic and egalitarian institute for Torah study. We welcome a diversity of opinions, and request that individuals are respectful of others.

One final note. You will see that the entire course is already online, and you can study at your own pace (or in your own order). However, new discussion topics will be added weekly to the forum area, so pace yourselves accordingly.

If you have any questions or problems getting access to the course or the forum, please don't hesitate to contact us.
