Help!
You have reached the 'help page.'
This page is intended as a brief guide to studying online with Kolel, and using the web forum discussion. You can access this 'help page' at anytime by clicking on the help button at the top of the screen. The strip of buttons at the top of the page also allows you to jump to the glossary, the bracha, or the course outline. You can return to the Kolel Home page by clicking on the Kolel home link.
Class Modules
Each course is divided into into modules (like chapters) which are further divided into topics (pages). Each module and topic begins with a brief overview. You are welcome to explore the material provided at your own pace, and at your own convenience (2 AM is a quiet time in some households!). We estimate that you can cover one module in about one hour online. You can decide whether to do this in one sitting, or several shorter sessions. Whatever you prefer, we recommend that you plan on covering each module within one week.
Each module contains a discussion question or a comment that you may respond to; you may also respond to another participant's contribution. Be sure to visit the interactive class discussion each week as well as reading the online material. You must register (it's free) in order to read participant's comments or post your own. To enter the Discussion Forum you must know the Class key (password): Please contact our webmaster.
Glossary
Another form of help is the glossary. Words that are unfamiliar to you are cross-referenced to the glossary. If you don't know what a word means, and find it is not linked to the glossary - tell us. We'll be happy to add it to the glossary.
If you would like to access short 'streamed' video or audio components along with written material and images, you will need a multimedia computer (ie. with sound capabilities) as well as installing the free Vivo plug-in to access this media.
Other questions? We'll be glad to help.
